The International Family Justice Center Conference will host a unique and powerful convening of professionals working in the fields of domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, elder abuse, and human trafficking.
In 2018, the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) will host two tracks (with six workshops per track) of the conference, one on Effective Handling of Non-Fatal Strangulation Cases and the other on Expanding Family Justice and Multi-Agency Centers.
The Office for Victims of Crime will sponsor a track on Working at the Intersections of Co-Occurring Trauma (Polyvictimization) focused on the impact of multiple types of trauma (polyvictimization) and the complex challenges of working with polyvictims.
In all workshops, we will share our lessons learned on how your community can move forward toward greater collaboration, co-located services approaches, and effective high risk teams - that can save lives and produce better short and long-term outcomes for survivors and their children.
Other conference workshop tracks will include: Trauma Informed Advocacy; Improving Law Enforcement Responses (DV/SA/CA); Best Practices for Civil and Criminal Justice Professionals; and Camp HOPE America: Breaking the Cycle.
