The Struggle: From Victim to Survivor, Attorney, Activist and Advocate
This is a free event.
Keynote Speaker: Teresa Fidelis Lancaster, Esquire
Teresa is an attorney and advocate for victims of sexual abuse who was recently featured in The Keepers, a seven-part documentary currently on Netflix. As an adult, mother, survivor and widow, Teresa returned to school to obtain her BA in Social Work from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) with Cum Laude.
Teresa left social work to pursue her true passion which was law. Her passion for law began as a young girl as she admired her father who was an Attorney who fought for justice for those who were unable to attain it for themselves. Teresa went on to earn her JD from the University of Maryland Francis Carey School of Law with honors and a Health Law Certificate in 2002.
You may know Teresa from the Doe/Roe against Father A. Joseph Maskell case where she sought to expose the sexual abuse which occurred at Archbishop Keough High School while she was a student there. Teresa went on to join SNAP (Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests) where she continues to help other victims of child sexual abuse.
Teresa currently works with Joanne Suder at the Suder Law Firm P.A. in Baltimore, MD representing survivors of child sexual abuse.
