This panel, hosted by the National District Attorney's Association, will assist prosecutors interested in implementation or augmentation of youth diversion programs. It will include representatives from a small, medium, and large juvenile prosecutors' offices who have created diversion programs in their jurisdictions. In this panel discussion, presenters will be discussing the creation of their diversion programs, community partners involved in the program, and describing the specifics of their diversion program.
Prosecutors will learn how diversion programs across the country were created and have been maintained; learn about potential challenges of diversion programs directly from individuals running diversion programs in small, medium and large jurisdictions including evidence-based programs; and learn the effects of diversion programs in different counties and the impacts they have had in communities.
