During this webinar, representatives from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department will discuss how they have gone above and beyond policing and have implemented programming that educates young people on how to make better decisions and offers them life changing experiences and positive interactions with law enforcement. These programs have resulted in lowering adolescent arrest, racial and ethnic disparities, and school-to-prison pipeline.
Participants will continue to learn about current programs and services (treatment alternatives), ways to engage the community and establish buy-in, successes and challenges, and ways that you can identify and utilize treatment alternatives to create safer communities.
Additionally, a licensed clinical therapist that specializes in narcotic addiction will provide a clinical perspective of and talk about how law enforcement can be more aware of local programs for individuals suffering from substance use disorders.
