Forensic interviewers recognize the shortcomings of a "one and done" approach in interviewing a subset of children. Research is informative regarding the cases most appropriate for more than one interview session and gives guidance on how to proceed. This course will explore a decision-making process for selecting appropriate cases, case planning, and adaptations.
This training is geared toward interviewers who have developed basic forensic interviewing skills and are comfortable conducting single-session forensic interviews of child witnesses. Completion of nationally recognized forensic interviewer training and experience conducting at least 50 forensic interviews is required.
