Risk Assessments for Youth

This webinar, hosted by the National District Attorney’s Association, will present the research on risk assessments in the criminal justice/corrections field of social science research and its application in the youth court system. Dr. Jennifer Pealer will provide a background on multiple generations of risk assessment instruments and what methods were relied upon in previous generations versus today. She will cover the literature, the use of algorithms, and the advantages and disadvantages of today's methods. She will also discuss impediments to risk assessment for youth relative to assessing risk for adults.
