National Institute of Justice Study Examines Long-Term Effects of Teen Dating Violence

The Office of Justice Programs’ National Institute of Justice today published a report summarizing an NIJ-supported longitudinal study examining the risks, patterns and consequences of teen dating violence that extend into adulthood. Research observing the trajectory of teen engagement in violence over time can inform future prevention and intervention approaches as well as expand our knowledge about problematic relationship dynamics, adolescent and young adult dating relationships, and their family and neighborhood characteristics.
