Abstract
This Fall/Winter 2012 issue of The Amber Advocate contains four main articles on issues pertaining to Amber Alerts. The first article, Bad Intentions: Amber Alert Scams, examines how Amber Alerts are being used to scam individuals. The second main article, Training: Amber Alert Academies Bring Training to Your Town, examines courses offered by local and regional law enforcement agencies to provide Amber Alert training police officers. The third main article, Amber Alert International, examines international efforts in two countries, the Netherlands and Greece, for using Amber Alerts. The fourth main article, Amber Alert in Indian Country, presents information on a workshop to address trafficking of Native American women and children, and the use of an Amber Alert to search for a missing toddler. Two additional articles highlight the actions by several people to assist authorities in finding children who were the subject of Amber Alerts.
