The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) of the Office of Justice Programs (OJP) invites applications for the FY 2024 State Criminal Alien Assistance Program. City, township, county, or state governments are eligible to apply. Successful applicants will receive funding to reimburse certain types of costs incurred in connection with “undocumented criminal aliens” who had been convicted of at least one felony or two misdemeanors (typically for violations of state or local law) and who were “incarcerated” under the legal authority of the applicant government for at least 4 consecutive days during the reporting period of July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023.
