This summary document of the Winter 2015 meeting of the Global Justice Information Sharing Initiative (Global) Advisory Committee (GAC, the Committee) provides brief descriptions of the several panels, presentations, and events that occurred at the meeting, along with information about the presenters. The GAC provided recommendations on promising national policies, practices, and technologies aimed at solving the highest priority business issues through better justice information sharing (JIS). The document notes that Bureau of Justice Assistance director Denise O’Donnell introduced the meeting’s theme of “New Year, New Challenges, Next Global Chapter” – Commending the Past, Prioritizing Future Opportunities. The document is divided into sections covering the following topics: cybersecurity, noting that presenters included Michael Rosanova, Vincent Talucci, and Douglas Robinson; new Global solutions for the field, with discussion of responses to the drug abuse epidemic and technologies for criminal apprehension; the Voices from the Field section highlights GAC Membership Roundtable; the Key JIS Activities section identifies Global members and partner federal leaders with a description of their efforts in JIS; and the 2015 Global Elections section discusses the biennial election for the top GAC leadership posts. The document also provides other information on the next meeting, future activities, and the Global Information Sharing Toolkit (GIST).
