This brief document presents an overview of Global’s Information Quality series of publications aimed at providing practical guidance on how to develop and implement an agency-wide information quality program.
This document addresses events such as terrorist threats and catastrophic natural disasters which have brought to light the increased need for cross-collaboration among local, state, tribal, and federal justice entities when personally identifiable information (PII) is shared to form the information and records that underlie justice decision-making. The list of resources described in this document are products of the Department of Justice’s Global Justice Information Sharing Initiative (Global) through their Privacy and Information Quality Working Group (GPIQWG). Global’s IQ series includes a suite of products designed to meet a range of IQ program needs for any size justice agency. The document provides a brief description of the resources, which correspond to the following three steps: step one, educate and raise awareness; step two, perform an assessment; and step three, develop policy and agency-wide program.
