ABST Social distancing, shelter in place, and other preventive responses to COVID-19, along with loss of employment, may create conditions of isolation and precipitate domestic violence and sexual assault. Ms. Simmons discusses how victim services, medical services, and sexual assault victims can act to address conditions that impede receiving help under these challenging conditions. Victim services must focus on outreach through hotlines and interactive online conversations with those who can help in dealing with stress and confusion about how to address particular needs.
