In this episode of Just Science Podcast, host Mikalaa Martin welcomes guest, Dr. Michael Nirenberg to discuss how the analysis of a perpetrators gait and footprint evidence found at a crime scene can help resolve cases, support convictions, or lead to the exoneration of falsely accused individuals. Dr. Nirenberg describes what it means to be a forensic podiatrist, how his career developed and led him to this forensic subdiscipline, the role of digital evidence on gait analysis, how forensic podiatrists analyze and compare the gait of a perpetrator to that of a person of interest, as well as several cases where the analysis of gait or footprint evidence was key to supporting investigations.
