Abstract
In addressing accreditation requirements for certification bodies, this document is intended to help ensure consistent application of NIJ Standard-0116.00, as well as establish uniformity in accreditation and provide transparent criteria for certification programs and accreditation of product certification bodies. In order to receive or maintain accreditation, certification bodies must meet or continue to meet the requirements specified in this document, including any matter incorporated by reference. Following a statement of the scope and purpose of the standard, along with references and definitions used in the document, the general requirements of the standard are specified. This is followed by the standard's requirements for the initial determination of compliance; inspection, audit, and testing; certified model listing; labeling and marking; surveillance requirement; supplier's management system; and reports of noncompliance, lack of fitness for intended purpose, failure in use, or safety issues.
