This is the Software Requirements Specification (SRS) document that specifies the required functions, capabilities, computer interfaces, and usability for the Minutia Deviation Tool (MDT), version 1.0 (beta), a prototype Computer Software Configuration Item (CSCI) (software utility) that aids a user in designating equivalent minutia pairs across two fingerprint biometric images and calculating the pair's minutia spatial deviations.
Abstract
Each requirement presented in the SRS has a threshold value or an objective value. "Threshold" is defined as the minimum acceptable value that, in the user's judgment, is necessary to satisfy the need. The "objective" value is defined as the value desired by the user and the value the software attempts to obtain. The objective value represents an incremental, operationally meaningful, time-critical, and/or cost-effective improvement to the threshold value of software requirements. Eighteen requirements are discussed in the areas of function, capabilities, computer interfaces, and usability. They also address requirements related to personnel, training, logistics, and packaging. Included in the SRS are qualification provisions and requirements traceability. 2 tables, 1 figure, 5 references, and notes
