Abstract
This November/December 2013 online edition of the OJJDP News @ A Glance contains several articles on the current work of the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. The main article describes the public hearings conducted by the Justice Department Task Force to address American Indian/Alaska Native children's exposure to violence. The Special Features section of the newsletter contains four articles dealing with OJJDP research highlighted at the American Society of Criminology meeting; information on OJJDP awards totaling more than $271 million that were awarded in fiscal year 2013; OJJDP's participation in the Conference on Girls and Trauma at Georgetown University; and a list of upcoming events. The 19 articles in the News in Brief section of the newsletter cover a variety of issues. These issues include OJJDP's Juvenile Justice Reform and Reinvestment Initiative, grant awards for reentry programs and indigent defense services, advancing youth leadership in Indian country and enhancing juvenile drug court programs, and the availability of new publications and online resources for status offense reform, suicide prevention, and preventing gang membership. The final section of the newsletter contains links to three new publications from OJJDP.
