This Pandemic Toolkit aims to help correctional facility administrators and staff as they prepare for the management and mitigation of infection airborne diseases, such as Covid-19, within the facilities; it is organized into three key domains: operations, intervention strategies, and population reduction.
This Toolkit is aimed at providing guidance and an archive of resources on the effective management and mitigation of infectious airborne disease within confinement facility settings. There are three things which this toolkit aims to help with: the prioritization of health and safety of incarcerated individuals along with confinement staff, by providing strategies for infection prevention and control; guidance on the equipment of facilities with the required tools and protocols for minimizing the spread of infectious disease among residents and personnel; and to help with the planning for quick and efficient responses to pandemic outbreaks within confinement facilities, including management, testing, quarantine, isolation, medical care, and population reduction.
