This toolkit provides guidance and sample documents to help Child Advocacy Centers (CACs) provide their services while maintaining the safety of clients and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Abstract
The recommendations provided are based on guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA). Access is provided to the Southern Regional Children's Advocacy Center's (SRCAC's) "Sample CAC COVID Operational Protocol." CACs can modify this protocol in accordance with their program operations. Other materials address specific aspects of sanitation that target the features of COVID-19, such as face mask procedures, a sample CAC cleaning schedule, and a CAC cleaning supply checklist and guidelines. The toolkit recommends a virtual presentation for staff to review the details of the cleaning and safety guidelines prior to opening the CAC. Staff should sign a document that states they have read, understand, and will practice the sanitation requirements. Materials for distribution are appended.
