This volume presents the questionnaire, the codes used in tabulating data, and the unweighted responses from a 1982 ABC News poll of public opinion on crime.
Abstract
The 2,464 respondents were questioned about their fear of being a crime victim, perceptions of the seriousness of crime in the United States, evaluation of the judicial and penal systems, assessments of police performance, and confidence in the ability of the police to prevent crime. The poll also solicited respondents' opinions about Reagan's policies, the state of the economy, and government spending. The data are available in either OSIRIS or card-image formats, and the codebook is machine-readable.
