EXPERIMENT TO ASSESS THE VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY OF ABO BLOOD GROUPING TESTS ON SAMPLES OF DECOMPOSING HUMAN MUSCLE TISSUE, USING ABSORPTION-ELUTION METHODS.
Abstract
TWO VARIATIONS OF THE ABO GROUPING METHOD WERE EMPLOYED ON PORTIONS OF MUSCLE TISSUE AND CORRESPONDING BLOOD SAMPLES FROM 100 CORPSES. THE SAMPLES WERE TESTED AT VARIOUS STAGES OF DECOMPOSITION. IT WAS FOUND THAT NO RELIABILITY COULD BE PLACED ON THE RESULTS OF SUCH TESTS WITHOUT TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION CHEMICAL CHANGES IN THE SAMPLES DUE TO PUTREFACTION. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED)
