This report summarizes the 2013 activities of the institutes of the United Nations (UN) that compose the crime prevention and criminal justice program network.
Abstract
The activities of the UN Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute for 2013 are contained in the report of the 23rd session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice. Activities for 15 of the regional affiliated institutes are described in the current report. Regional institutes encompass the regions of Asia and the Far East, Latin America, Europe, and Africa. Affiliated institutes include the International Centre for Criminal Law Reform and Criminal Justice Policy, the International Institute of Higher Studies in Criminal Science, the Naif Arab University for Security Science, the National Institute of Justice of the U.S. Department of Justice, the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, the International Centre for the Prevention of Crime, the Institute for Security Studies, the Korean Institute of Criminology, the Australian Institute of Criminology, the Basel Institute on Governance, and the College for Criminal Law Science. A separate section reports on the 2013 activities of the International Scientific and Professional Advisory Council.
