This report, prepared for the United Nations Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, describes the activities in 1993 of the UN Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI), its regional affiliated institutes, and the associated institutes and centers that comprise the UN Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Program network.
Abstract
The priority themes of UNICRI include national and transnational crime, organized crime, economic crime, and the role of criminal law in protecting the environment; crime prevention in urban areas and juvenile and violent delinquency; and efficiency, fairness, and improvement in the management and administration of criminal justice and related systems. The activities of UNICRI, regional affiliates, and other UN-related agencies are outlined here in terms of research projects, technical cooperation and assistance, conferences and meeting, information dissemination and publications, resources, and Board of Trustees activities.
