THIS ARTICLE DESCRIBES THE OPERATIONS OF THE POLYGRAPH MACHINE, OUTLINES OBJECTIONS TO THE POLYGRAPH TEST, AND REVIEWS THE LEGAL STATUS OF POLYGRAPH EVIDENCE.
Abstract
OBJECTIONS TO THE USE OF POLYGRAPHS INCLUDE THE SUBJECTIVE NATURE OF THE POLYGRAPH OPERATOR'S JOB, THE PREJUDICIAL EFFECT THAT POLYGRAPH EVIDENCE MAY HAVE ON A JURY, AND THE QUESTIONS ABOUT THE RELIABILITY OF POLYGRAPH EVIDENCE. AFTER REVIEWING THE LEGAL STATUS OF POLYGRAPH EVIDENCE, THE AUTHOR PROVES THAT POLYGRAPH EVIDENCE SHOULD NOT BE ADMITTED IN COURT.
