THIS GROUP THERAPY PROGRAM FOR PROBATIONERS WAS NOT CONSIDERED SUCCESSFUL FIRST, BECAUSE ATTENDANCE WAS SHODDY, AND THEN AFTER MANDATORY ATTENDANCE WAS BEGUN, HOSTILE ATTITUDES OF THE PARTICIPANTS PRECLUDED SUCCESS.
Abstract
OTHER FACTORS WERE THAT PROBATIONERS IN THE COMMUNITY SETTING DID NOT FEEL ENOUGH PSYCHOLOGICAL DISCOMFORT TO MAKE THEM WANT TO SEEK HELP, AND THAT YOUNG ADULT MALES WERE HESITANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PRESENCE OF PSYCHOLOGICAL DISCOMFORT IN FRONT OF THEIR PEERS.
