Abstract
PARTICULAR ATTENTION IS GIVEN TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF JUVENILE JUSTICE IN OHIO. THE EFFECT OF THREE U.S. SUPREME COURT DECISIONS ON MODERN JUVENILE JUSTICE IS OUTLINES. THESE CASES ARE KENT V. UNITED STATES (1966), IN RE GAULT (1967), AND RE WINSHIP (1970). THE REQUIREMENTS THAT THESE DECISIONS HAVE PLACED ON ALL JUVENILE PROCEEDINGS ARE LISTED. THE APPARENT FAILURE OF THE JUVENILE COURTS TO SLOW JUVENILE DELINQUENCY RATES IS ALSO DISCUSSED. A LIST OF ABBREVIATIONS AND ADDRESSES, A DESCRIPTION OF THE OHIO YOUTH COMMISSION, AND A LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTER'S QUESTIONNAIRE ON THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM ARE INCLUDED AS WELL.
