This study investigates the variables associated with recidivism and the maintenance of employment among 70 adult probationers in Hawaii.
Abstract
In a 12-month followup, three variables were found to be significantly related to recidivism: employment, age at first arrest, and the number of address changes. In addition, the more hours the probationers reported they spent in pool halls, bars, and nightclubs at the beginning of the study, the lower their chances were of maintaining employment during the followup period. Notes and 21 references are appended. (Author abstract modified)
