A FILM IN DRAMATIZED AND NARRATIVE FORM PROVIDES THE PATROL OFFICER WITH SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO CARRY OUT CRIME PREVENTIVE MEASURES 'AGGRESSIVELY' IN BUSINESS AREAS AND AT RESIDENCES.
Abstract
THE FILM EMPHASIZES POLICE INVOLVEMENT WITH THE COMMUNITY BY ENCOURAGING THE PATROL OFFICER TO ACTIVELY SEEK OUT CITIZENS AND ADVISE THEM ON CRIME PREVENTION. SUGGESTIONS ARE OFFERED ON HOW TO INVESTIGATE 'SUSPICIOUS' BEHAVIOR; THE OFFICER'S CONDUCT SHOULD BE COURTEOUS AT ALL TIMES WHILE QUESTIONING INDIVIDUALS. THE FILM STRESSES THE OFFICER'S ROLE IN PROMOTING TRUST AND COOPERATION, THEREBY IMPROVING PUBLIC ATTITUDES AND INCREASING COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT. VIGNETTES ILLUSTRATING TYPICAL PATROL SITUATIONS AND METHODS OF AGGRESSIVE PATROL ARE PRESENTED.
