RESULTS OF A PROJECT DESIGNED TO DEFINE MANAGEMENT INFORMATION NEEDED BY COURT ADMINISTRATORS, TO IDENTIFY SOURCES OF THIS INFORMATION, AND TO CONCEPTUALLY DESIGN THE NEEDED AUTOMATED AND MANUAL SYSTEMS.
Abstract
OTHER PROJECT OBJECTIVES WERE TO DETERMINE THE OPERATIONAL AND ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY OF ALTERNATIVE MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM CONCEPTS AND APPROACHES, AND TO DEFINE THE STEPS AND SCHEDULE NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT THE CONCEPTUAL SYSTEM DESIGN. AN OVERVIEW OF THE PROPOSED MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM IS PROVIDED. ALSO PRESENTED ARE THE FACTORS LIMITING THE DESIGN, THE PROPOSED METHODS FOR SATISFYING EACH INFORMATION REQUIREMENT, AND A SERIES OF RECOMMENDATIONS FOR IMPROVING MANAGEMENT INFORMATION IN THE COURTS. A TIME PHASED PLAN FOR IMPLEMENTING THE MANUAL AND AUTOMATED MODULES OF THE SYSTEM AND A SUMMARY OF THE EXPECTED IMPLEMENTATION AND CONTINUING OPERATIONAL COSTS AND POTENTIAL BENEFITS ARE ALSO INCLUDED. THE APPENDIXES PRESENT A DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF EACH MANAGEMENT INFORMATION REQUIREMENT IN THE SYSTEM, A DATA ELEMENT DICTIONARY AND IMPACT SUMMARY, AND A DESCRIPTION OF A MANUAL WORKSHEET FOR COLLECTING AND DEVELOPING MANAGEMENT INFORMATION.
