IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF MAY 1975, THIS PLAN SETS FORTH OPERATIONAL PROCEDURES ENSURING THE SECURITY AND PRIVACY OF CRIMINAL HISTORY RECORD INFORMATION SYSTEMS FUNDED BY LEAA.
Abstract
THIS PLAN ALSO PRESENTS INFORMATION ON THE STATUS OF CRIMINAL HISTORY SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT IN ALASKA, THE AGENCIES COVERED BY THE REGULATIONS, PLAN SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS, THE ALASKA CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION SYSTEM'S SECURITY AND PRIVACY STATUTE AND REGULATIONS, AND THE PLAN OBJECTIVES. THE MAJOR AREAS DISCUSSED IN THE OPERATIONAL PROCEDURES ARE: COMPLETENESS AND ACCURACY, LIMITS ON DISSEMINATION, AUDIT AND QUALITY CONTROL, SECURITY, AND INDIVIDUAL RIGHT OF ACCESS. A SCHEDULE OF MAJOR MILESTONES PRESENTS THOSE TASKS WHICH MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE ALASKA IS IN FULL COMPLIANCE WITH THE REGULATIONS.
