This directory is designed to assist agencies, organizations, and individuals in the identification and use of technical assistance and training resources for the reduction of alcohol and other drug abuse.
Abstract
Information for the directory was obtained from technical assistance and training providers (State and national), the California State Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs, and the Circle, Inc. (for services at the national level). The directory consists of three matrices and two general sections. The matrices present the technical assistance service categories for each California and Federal agency, as well as specific populations served. The first section of the directory contains descriptions of the alcohol and other drug abuse services available through contractors with the California State alcohol and drug programs. The second section contains a list of such services available through Federal contractors. Each entry for California technical assistance and training includes the agency's name, address, telephone number, contact person, project monitor, services offered, target population, application procedures, funding source, and time limit on contract. Descriptions of Federal technical assistance and training services also include this information along with other pertinent information. The directory focuses on free technical assistance and training services available through traditional systems that target alcohol and other drug abuse.
