THIS STUDY FOUND THAT ALCOHOL WAS PRESENT IN A HIGH PROPORTION (56 PERCENT) OF THE 158 PATIENT-SUBJECTS WHO WERE ADMITTED TO THE EMERGENCY SERVICE FOR THE TREATMENT OF INJURIES RESULTING FROM FIGHTS OR ASSAULTS.
Abstract
THE FINDINGS STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT ALCOHOL OFTEN PLAYS A SIGNIFICANT ROLE IN NONFATAL FIGHTS AND ASSAULTS, PARTICULARLY THOSE INVOLVING PERSONS WHO ARE UNKNOWN TO EACH OTHER.
