Sweden's Penal Code provides for a variety of sanctions, including fine, imprisonment, conditional sentences, probation, and surrender for special care.
Abstract
The four types of fines are the traditional fines, which is related solely to the offense seriousness; the day fine, which is imposed as proportional to the offender's daily income; the standardized fine, in which the amount is determined according to a special computation; and a corporate fine. Conditional sentences and probation are used when a fine is considered insufficient. Surrender for care involves treatment through social service agencies, treatment of abusers, and mental health services. 3 references
