ANALYSIS OF BOTH RELEVANT ILLINOIS LAW AND PRACTICE IN RELATION TO EACH SECTION OF THE STANDARDS.
Abstract
THIS REPORT IS ORGANIZED INTO SEVENTEEN CHAPTERS, EACH ONE COINCIDING WITH A SET OF STANDARDS. PRECEDING THE COMMENTARY IN EACH CHAPTER IS AN OVERVIEW WHICH ATTEMPTS TO DESCRIBE, WITHOUT CITATIONS TO AUTHORITIES, THE GENERAL STATE OF ILLINOIS' COMPLIANCE IN A GIVEN STANDARD AREA. FOLLOWING THE OVERVIEW IS, SECTION BY SECTION, A REPORT IN BOLD TYPE OF A STANDARD AS APPROVED BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES OF THE AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION, FOLLOWED IN NORMAL TYPE BY A COMMENTARY WHICH DESCRIBES WITH PARTICULARITY ILLINOIS LAW AND PRACTICE IN RELATION TO THE SECTION OF STANDARD. AUTHORITIES, TO THE EXTENT POSSIBLE, ARE GIVEN IN THE COMMENTARY. ILLINOIS LAW IS REPORTED BOTH IN TERMS OF ENACTED STATUTES AND CASE PRECEDENTS. IN ADDITION, RELATED COURT RULES ARE DISCUSSED. PRACTICE NOTES HAVE BEEN MADE ON THE BASIS OF AVAILABLE STATISTICS, INTERVIEWS WITH JUDGES AND PRACTITIONERS, AND THE EXPERIENCE OF THE PROJECT STAFF, ITS ADVISORY COMMITTEE AND THE 'READERS' OF PARTICULAR SECTIONS.
