Abstract
RESEARCH PROJECTS OF THE AMERICAN BAR FOUNDATIN, THE LEGAL RESEARCH AFFILIATE OF THE AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION, ARE BRIEFLY DESCRIBED. THEY INVOLVE SUCH AREAS AS THE LEGAL PROFESSION; THE DELIVERY OF LEGAL SERVICES; THE EDUCATION OF LAWYERS; LITIGATION, COURTS, AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION; HISTORY, DEVELOPMENT, APPLICATION, AND IMPACT OF SUBSTANTIVE LAWS; ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES; COMPUTERS AND THE LAW; INSURANCE LAW; CORPORATE LAW, AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE. SKETCHES ARE PROVIDED ON THE CURRENT STATUS OF THE FOLLOWING SPECIAL FOUNDATION PROGRAMS: MEYER RESEARCH GRANT PROGRAM, VISITING SCHOLARS, CONTRACT RESEARCH, SAMUEL POOL WEAVER ESSAY PROGRAM, JAPANESE LAW GRADUATE FELLOWSHIPS, LEGAL HISTORY FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM, AND CROMWELL LIBRARY. THE ANNUAL ACTIVITIES OF THE LIAISON RESEARCH SERVICE, WHICH PROVIDES ASSISTANCE ON SMALL-SCALE RESEARCH NEEDS FOR THE ORGANIZED BAR, ARE DELINEATED.
