Abstract
The workbook provides a summary of core concepts, worksheets to complete homework assignments, and space to take notes for each of the sessions. The concepts and skills presented in anger management treatment are best learned by practice and review and by completing the homework assignments in this workbook. Using the workbook as an adjunct to participation in the 12-week anger management group treatment program will help develop the skills necessary to successfully manage anger. The workbook discusses, among other topics: (1) the purpose of the group and group rules; (2) myths about anger; (3) anger as a habit and ways to break the habit; (4) events that trigger anger; (5) physical, behavioral, emotional, and cognitive cues to anger; (6) anger control plans; (7) the aggression cycle; (8) relaxation techniques; (9) cognitive restructuring; (10) assertiveness and the Conflict Resolution Model; and (11) anger and the family.
