The Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority's 1983 audit focuses on the quality of criminal history record information in five areas: extent of missing identification in the Computerized Criminal History (CCH) database, accuracy and completeness of CCH identification and history data, and cross-validation of independently maintained automated criminal system information systems.
Abstract
The audit revealed that missing identification data was not a problem. While 10.3 percent of the subjects had some kind of inaccuracy in identification information, about 1.5 percent contained an inaccuracy serious enough to preclude a positive response to an inquiry. The audit compared criminal history information for 400 persons with original source documents and examined disposition information on arrest events. Tables.
