This report highlights the activities of the Indiana Commission on Courts during 1993.
Abstract
The Commission is directed to review and report on all requests for new courts or changes in jurisdiction of existing courts, conduct research concerning requests for new courts or changes in jurisdiction of existing courts, conduct public hearings throughout the State concerning these requests, and submit an annual report to the General Assembly. This report consists of a summary of the Commission's work program, a summary of testimony presented at its four sessions held in 1993, and committee findings and recommendations. These recommendations pertain to noncontroversial court issues, election of judges in two Indiana counties, judges' salary increase and increases in court fees, requests for magistrates, requests for new courts, and other charges from the Indiana Legislative Council. 4 appendixes
