This study examined the relationship between juvenile drug abuse and juvenile delinquency in Spain, drug-abuse intervention methods for this population, and juvenile drug- abuse prevention measures.
Abstract
Based on the data obtained from the evaluation of a group of juvenile delinquents residing in institutions, this study found the group to have a significant number of social-risk factors. These factors contribute to delinquent behaviors and general maladaptation. The author recommends community-based treatment programs for juvenile drug abusers as an alternative to imprisonment. Juvenile delinquency prevention and drug-prevention measures are also recommended. 3 tables and a 21-item bibliography
