Abstract
The Steering Group report pertains to primary goals for the June committee meeting and the coming year. Liaison reports outline the nature of committee contacts with the American Bar Association Committee on Court Planning, regarding court facility construction projects; discuss activity at the National Criminal Justice Reference Service regarding the Construction Information Exchange; review the activity of the American Jail Association regarding a committee-sponsored workshop at the association's annual conference and outline committee work with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the Commission on Accreditation for Corrections, and the National Conference of State Legislators. Task group and subcommittee reports cover committee activities that pertain to the National Institute for Corrections' small jail review, court facilities design, juvenile justice facility design, seminars and workshops, a justice lexicon for architects, and liability issues in prison design. Appendixes contain a committee organizational chart, a small jail design guide, the justice lexicon, a discussion of architects' liability in facility design, and descriptions of various information services.
