The binder contains instructional material (pamphlets, lectures, forms) on such topics as arrest, evidence, and search and seizure, prepared by the University of Arkansas Law School.
Abstract
The material was developed as a course for law enforcement personnel. The lectures, each with a list of references and some with a bibliography, deal with the subjects of arrest, civil liability of police officers, constitutional rights of the accused, evidence, the philosophical roots of criminal justice, search and seizure, and the substantive law of crimes. Another lecture discusses stripped vehicle investigation and the problem and identification of parts. Excerpts from the State of Arkansas statutes and several Federal statutes deal with law enforcement topics including stealing, prison escapes, obscenity, debt adjusting, assault on police officers, smuggling items into prison, and revocation of drivers' licenses. Separate pamphlets on crime prevention, the Alcohol and Tobacco tax division, a guide to laws enforced by the Alcohol and Tax Division, the National Firearms Act, and what to do about annoying telephone calls are also included. The Arkansas Law Enforcement Directory of 1965-66 and report forms used by Arkansas police departments are provided. There is no table of contents to the binder, no separation of topics, and no index.
