Abstract
REASONS FOR COMMITTING THE CRIME AS WELL AS VARIOUS METHODS OF COMMITTING THE CRIME ARE COVERED IN DETAIL. FOR OVER THREE YEARS, THE AUTHOR SPENT TIME WITH THE ROBBERY DETAIL OF THE DENVER POLICE DEPARTMENT INTERVIEWING ROBBERS AND THEIR VICTIMS, SOMETIMES AT THE SCENE OF THE CRIME. TO ASSIST THE COURTS, HE HAS EXAMINED OVER ONE HUNDRED ARMED ROBBERIES, INCLUDING TWENTY-FIVE WHO KILLED DURING THE ROBBERY. THIS STUDY ANALYZES ONE THOUSAND ARMED ROBBERIES IN DENVER, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO ANALYSIS OF THESE CASES. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)
