FINAL EVALAUTION OF THE FIRST 15 MONTHS OF A TWO YEAR IMPACT CITIES PROGRAM TO REDUCE BURGLARIES AND ROBBERIES IN A TARGET ZONE OF ATLANTA THROUGH EXPANDED USE OF HELICOPTER PATROL.
Abstract
EXAMINATION OF CRIME STATISTICS FOR THE 15 MONTH TIME PERIOD REVEALED THAT THE RATE OF BURGLARIES WAS NOT SIGNIFICANTLY AFFECTED BY THE INCREASED PATROL. PARTIAL SUCCESS WAS REALIZED FOR THE OBJECTIVES OF INCREASED APPREHENSION OF CRIMINALS AT THE CRIME SCENE AND REDUCED POLICE RESPONSE TIME. A FINAL EVALUATION WAS TO BE PREPARED UPON RECEIPT OF SECOND YEAR STATISTICS IN JANUARY 1976.
