EXAMINES THE PROCEDURES FOLLOWED IN JUVENILE CASES AND THE TREATMENT FACILITIES AFFORDED JUVENILES.
Abstract
THE STUDY DISCUSSES THE PROBLEMS OF DEFINITION OF DELINQUENCY AND THEORIES OF CAUSE. COMMENTS ARE MADE ON STATISTICS CONCERNING THE EXTENT AND NATURE OF JUVENILE OFFENSES. AN EXAMINATION OF OHIO'S JUVENILE COURT SYSTEM COVERS ORGANIZATION, JURISDICTION, PERSONNEL, FACILITIES, PROCEDURES, AND FINANCING. THE CORRECTION SYSTEM IN OHIO IS HIGHLIGHTED, ALONG WITH PROCEDURES AND REHABILITATION RESOURCES. COMMENTS ARE THEN MADE ON RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN THE JUVENILE CORRECTION FIELD IN THE AREAS OF APPELLATE COURT DECISIONS AND CLASSIFICATION AND TREATMENT.
