THE ARTICLE DESCRIBES A STUDY THAT WAS CONDUCTED TO ASCERTAIN THE CHANGE IN ATTITUDE OF A PARTICULAR JURY PANEL THAT SERVED IN OAKLAND COUNTY, MICHIGAN, FOR A TWO-WEEK TERM.
Abstract
THE PURPOSE OF THE STUDY WAS TO DETERMINE WHAT CHANGES (IF ANY) CITIZENS UNDERGO IN THEIR ATTITUDE REGARDING THE DEGREE OF JUSTICE AND EQUITY PRESENT IN THE LEGAL SYSTEM, AND WHETHER CITIZENS ARE SATISFIED WITH THE JURY EXPERIENCE. BASICALLY, IT WAS CONCLUDED THAT A BELIEF IN THE JUSTICE AND EQUITY OF THE LEGAL SYSTEM INCREASED SIGNIFICANTLY FOR PEOPLE WHO SAT ON A LEAST ONE TRIAL AS A JUROR. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)...KAP
