Programs undertaken by the Australian Institute of Criminology (AIC) from July 1, 1992 to June 30, 1993 are discussed.
Abstract
The AIC engages in research, training, and related activities at the government level and responds to requests for information and comment. This annual report summarizes the results of crime prevention and criminal justice policy and practice programs. Highlights of the year covered by the report include the establishment of the National Clearing House for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect. Thirteen areas of research activities outlined in the report include crime prevention, drugs and substance abuse, environmental protection, indigenous and ethnic justice, juvenile justice, law enforcement, sentencing and courts, strategic crime assessment, treatment of offenders, victims, violence, white-collar and corporate crime, and women and crime. Conference and seminars conducted by the AIC are described as are the Library, Publications, and Directorate Programs. Financial statements of the AIC are included. Appendixes include a listing of publications, papers, and staff members.
