AN EVALUATION OF A WARNING SIGN THAT AUTOMATICALLY INDICATES TO ERRANT MOTORISTS WHEN THEY ARE SPEEDING INDICATES THAT IT HAS A DIRECTLY BENEFICIAL RESULT OF CONTROLLING EXCESSIVE SPEED IN A PROXIMATE AREA.
Abstract
SUCH SIGNS ARE ACTIVATED BY INDUCTIVE LOOPS TAPED ON OR IMBEDDED IN THE ROADWAY. INSTALLATION OF A PERMANENT SIGN WAS ESTIMATED AT 800 POUNDS ENGLISH.
