DESIGN AND TESTING BY ONE OF FOUR CORPORATIONS FOR A REAL TIME AUTOMATIC VEHICLE MONITORING SYSTEM (AVM) USING A PHASE MULTILATERATION COMPARISON TECHNIQUE.
Abstract
TESTS USING THIS MULTILATERATION TECHNIQUE CONFIGURED IN A ONE-WAY RANGE DIFFERENCE TYPE SOLUTION, IN SIMULATION OF A 1000 VEHICLE FLEET OPERATION, WERE CONDUCTED IN URBAN PHILADELPHIA IN BOTH LOW RISE AND HIGH RISE ENVIRONMENTS. RESULTS OF THE TESTING SHOW THE SYSTEM, WITH NEEDED REFINEMENTS, TO BE A VIABLE MEANS OF VEHICLE MONITORING. THIS REPORT DETAILS THE SYSTEM EQUIPMENT AND OPERATION, AND INCLUDES BUDGETARY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH DEVELOPMENT, IMPLEMENTATION AND OPERATION OF THE BASELINE SYSTEM. TECHNICAL DATA, SUPPLEMENTARY ANALYSES, AND ILLUSTRATIVE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE APPENDED.
