THIS SYSTEMS ANALYSIS OF THE JUDICIAL AND BAIL PROCESSES OF TWO OHIO JURISDICTIONS WILL PROVIDE AN EMPIRICAL DATA BASE FOR THE COURTS TO UTILIZE IN DESIGNING, IMPLEMENTING AND EVALUATING BAIL AND COURT PROCEDURES.
Abstract
THIS REPORT DESCRIBES WHAT WILL BE ACCOMPLISHED WHEN THE STUDY IS COMPLETE, THE STUDY METHODOLOGY, THE TYPES OF DATA COLLECTED, AND THE COLLECTION TECHNIQUES. THE JUDICIARY OF THE TWO AREAS (CINCINNATI AND COLUMBUS) IS INTERESTED IN A FACTUAL ANALYSIS OF EXISTING BAIL PRACTICES, THE RESULT OF THOSE PRACTICES, AND THE EXPECTED EFFECTS OF IMPLEMENTATION OF NEW BAIL FORMS OR A DIFFERENT MIX OF EXISTING TYPES OF PRETRIAL RELEASE STRATEGIES.
