THE AUTHOR BRIEFLY DESCRIBES THE MARYLAND ASSOCIATION FOR BANK SECURITY REWARD PROGRAM, DESIGNED TO STIMULATE PUBLIC ASSISTANCE IN PROVIDING INFORMATION LEADING TO CONVICTION FOR CRIMES AGAINST PARTICIPATING BANKS.
Abstract
BANKS PARTICIPATE BY CONTRIBUTING A PREDETERMINED YEARLY SUM PLUS ANY ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENTS NECESSARY TO COVER REWARDS PAID. UNDER THE PROGRAM, INSTITUTED IN 1974, THE ASSOCIATION MADE FIVE REWARDS PAYMENTS THE FIRST YEAR AND FIFTEEN DURING THE FIRST THREE-QUARTERS OF 1975. THE ASSOCIATION FINDS THIS RESPONSE ENCOURAGING.
