Intended for use in training California law enforcement personnel, this document presents an outline for California law enforcement trainers and criminal justice educators who are delivering performance-based law-enforcement training on property crimes.
Abstract
The course outline lists and discusses the elements of each offense, summarizes the classification into felonies and misdemeanors, and provides citations to specific California laws. The offenses covered include theft offenses, joyriding and vehicle theft, defrauding of an innkeeper, appropriation of lost property, unauthorized entry of property, burglary, possession of burglary tools, and alteration of serial numbers of identification marks. Additional offenses covered include receiving stolen property, embezzlement, forgery, writing checks with intent to defraud, vandalism, cruelty to animals, arson, aggravated arson, and possession of a firebomb. Further offenses include aid, counsel, or procurement of the burning of property or land; repossession; and landlord/tenant disputes. 11 references, examples of specific offenses, and related materials
